A Sweet Encounter
It was a warm summer evening in Harlem, humid enough to make you sweat but not so much that it turned into a downpour. I was strolling through Central Park, looking for the perfect spot to catch up on some late-night reading.
The streetlights flickered on, casting a golden glow over the old brick buildings and bustling sidewalks. The air was thick with the scent of rain-soaked asphalt and fresh-cut grass. Families were playing in small parks while kids ran around, laughing and enjoying their last moments of freedom before bedtime.
The Encounter
That’s when I saw her, Harlem Honey herself. She was sitting on a park bench, lost in thought. Her presence was magnetic; the kind that draws you in without even realizing it.
“Mind if I join you?” I asked politely as I took a seat beside her.
She looked up and smiled. “Not at all.”

We sat there for a while, just enjoying each other’s company. The conversation flowed easily, peppered with laughter and shared stories about the neighborhood. She told me how she used to come here every summer to escape the heat in Brooklyn, but this year was special because of someone new.
A Song Born
As we talked, I found myself humming a tune that seemed to capture everything around us, the late-night breeze, the distant sound of jazz music from a nearby club, and most importantly, her smile. It wasn’t until she suggested we record it together that I knew what I had to do.
I whipped out my phone and set up a quick recording. We sang our hearts out, both trying to capture the moment as accurately as possible. The song felt raw and real, like we were bottling a memory for posterity.
Harlem Honey Drip
The track is called “Harlem Honey Drip.” It’s about that one sweet encounter that left an unforgettable taste in your life, something that makes you smile even on the cloudiest days.
