Sure, you can find the big-name apples like Honeycrisp, Gala, and Pink Lady year-round, but October is when the fun ones show up! We’re talking about the spunky varieties like Winesap, Gravenstein, and Ashmead’s Kernel.
Inspired by our recent camping trip along the Hood River Fruit Loop, we wanted to share five of our favorite apple-forward recipes. Swing by a farm stand or U-Pick orchard on your way to the campsite and bring home enough for breakfast, dinner, and maybe even dessert by the campfire.
