A Jury Of One’s Own

The song that tells the story of a moment where I had to face myself and the truth head-on. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VNUFijFVPAc

A Jury Of One’s Own

It was 2 AM on a quiet night in my old apartment, third floor up. I had just got home from work after another long day. Instead of collapsing onto the bed, I stared at the mirror.

The lines around my eyes were starting to show, and so were the thinning strands of hair that clung to my temples. My clothes hung on me like old scars, barely covering what was left of my former self. The reflection in front of me was blank, as if it didn’t recognize who I had become.

The Call

My phone rang, breaking the silence. Without thinking, I answered it and heard a friend’s voice from the hospital. He needed to talk about something important that could change everything.

Stumbling down the stairs, my feet barely touching the cold concrete steps, I entered the dimly lit waiting room. My mind raced with questions until my brother’s voice hit me like a freight train.

The Truth

It was him. His voice was shaky and filled with fear. He told me about an argument that had spiraled out of control earlier in the day. When he described how I ended up at the hospital, bruised and broken, surrounded by strangers, my heart pounded.

The truth hit like a punch to the gut. This moment had been coming, but it didn’t make facing reality any easier. My life was a mess, and I knew who had created it all.

Reckoning

With a heavy heart, I left the hospital and decided it was time to take responsibility for my actions. That night, under the dim lights of my old apartment, I made a change.

The Truth on Trial

This song is about that moment, about facing the truth and being judged by no one else but myself. It’s about standing alone in the darkness and accepting your own verdicts.

Listen to “The Truth on Trial,” let it take you back to that night, and find your own truth in its melancholic melody and honest lyrics.

Every stream buys back a piece of what it cost. Same person. Same income. Different knowledge.
