A Night That Changed Everything
I was 18, a kid trying to make sense of a city filled with pain and joy, laughter and loss. In 2005, I moved from the suburbs to downtown Atlanta for college. My world was a mix of textbooks and late-night parties where neon lights promised everything but delivered something raw.
The Night
That night started like any other. I stepped into the dimly lit club on Piedmont Avenue, my heart pounding with anticipation. Inside, the air was thick with smoke, the music thumping so hard it felt part of me. A group of friends and I found a table near the back corner where we could talk without being overheard.
We were laughing and chatting, trying to make sense of our lives amidst the chaos. The girl sitting next to me was everything I wanted but nothing I had. She told me stories that seemed too good to be true, how she’d left a small town for the big city, how she dreamed of making it as an artist. Her words felt like honey on my tongue, sweet and addictive.
The night went by fast. Drinks flowed freely, and before I knew it, we were dancing close together, bodies pressed against each other in that intoxicating way only late-night clubs can create. We talked for hours about our dreams, fears, insecurities. In that moment, everything felt possible.

The Truth
Just when the lights began to dim and the crowd thinned out, she shared something raw and real. She told me about her past, the struggles, mistakes, the pain she carried every day. It was like a weight being lifted from my chest; I felt it too, this heaviness that came from knowing someone truly.
She said, “This city can give you everything or nothing. You just have to choose where your truth lies.”
After Hours
The lights went down, and in the quiet of the club, we sat together in the glow of a single table light. In that moment, I realized something profound: my life was not just about partying and drinking; it was about finding the truth within myself.
That night changed everything for me. It wasn’t just about the girl or the club scene; it was about realizing that our stories define us. Every stream of music, every late-night conversation, buys back a piece of what it cost to see the world clearly.
The Track
That experience became the inspiration for “After Hours: Lights Down, Truth Up,” a song from my latest catalog. It’s not just about the party or the girl; it’s about the truth that changes everything.

Listen and let this track take you back to your own after hours, those moments when the lights go down but the truth comes out.

You’ve been paying the cost of not knowing long enough. Every stream buys back a piece of what it cost. Same person. Same income. Different knowledge.
