Man Arrested With Fentanyl After Eluding Cops in Stolen Truc…

[ad_1]

Seattle police officers arrested a 31-year-old felon for eluding police in a stolen truck Tuesday afternoon following an eagle-eyed police track from a helicopter.

On Nov 18, at about 2:00 p.m., patrol officers, equipped with an Automatic License Plate Reader (ALPR), found a stolen Ford F-150 near Meridian Avenue North and North Northgate Way.

King County Sheriff’s Guardian One helicopter quickly arrived in the area and tracked the stolen truck from the air. Police attempted traffic stops, yet the driver took off, “The vehicle eluded recklessly, driving away at high speed in a crowded residential area,” according to the police report.

The passenger bailed on foot as the vehicle eluded, and officers quickly caught him following Guardian One’s directions. Officers later investigated and released him from custody.

Guardian One kept eyes on the stolen vehicle and officers followed the pilot’s direction of the truck’s movements until it pulled into the Goodwill parking lot in Ballard. The driver ran into the store and changed clothing, furthering his attempts to evade law enforcement.

Shortly thereafter, officers arrived at Goodwill and arrested him with the help of store security.

Police recovered 25.9 grams of Fentanyl, as well as drug paraphernalia during the arrest. Cops also recovered the stolen truck, which had burglary and auto theft tools inside of it including a lock pick kit. Police impounded the vehicle.

Officers booked suspect into King County Jail for Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Eluding a Police Vehicle, and Possession with Intent to Distribute Narcotics.

The suspect, a multi-convicted felon for firearm, stolen property, and theft offenses is on active Department of Corrections Supervision for Robbery. He is prohibited from engaging in criminal activity as a condition of his release.

Detectives in the General Investigations Unit are assigned to this case.
