Hot on the heels of their Pure Noise Records signing announcement, the post-emo and butt rock band Ben Quad have announced their upcoming new EP, Ephemera, which will be released on October 25. It’s now available to pre-order on their website.
The band also released their second single from the record today, “Your Face As An Effigy,” with an accompanying music video. Showcasing Deafheaven-inspired blast beats, panic chord breakdowns, and melodic vocal lines from the early 2000s, this is the most dynamic song they have written yet.
With the September 27th release of the single “When Everything’s Over,” The Davenports – the project of indie-pop singer-songwriter, Scott Klass – announces the upcoming album, You Could’ve Just Said That. Coming from NYC bred / LA based indie label Mother West in January, the self-produced LP is true to its title in both sentiment and execution, making it the most heartfelt expression of a 25-year journey already characterized by frank, poignant insight.
With burbling bass and wistful melodicism that flits between nostalgic picture painting and dancy pop, the new single “When Everything’s Over” opens the album, setting off an overriding theme of the record about how indirect and evasive we all are with each other so much of the time. The song asks how blunt you can be with an aging, narcissistic family member who had chances to “do better” but never really did.
“In this case, the narrator lets themselves go to a super dark place in their imagination – basically, ‘You’re going to regret this when you’re crumbling, about to die,’” states Klass, adding, “Musically, to me, marrying that darkness to a bouncy, groovy tune gives it even more emotional punch.”

With a performance/running time of three hours, Music for a Bellowing Room is an exercise in resolution, inviting the audience to shift their concentration and perception through gradual changes in sound and image. This piece was originally commissioned by the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and received its premiere performance in September 2023. On November 8, Late Music will release a 3CD+Blu-Ray edition.

Continuing a lineage of minimalist composers such as Éliane Radigue, Tony Conrad, and La Monte Young, her works expand the human perception of sound through subtle variations of considered harmonic structures, exploring overtone complexity, intonation, and natural resonance.

LISTEN TO “GLITTER & GOLD” HERE
“I wanted to create something fun and upbeat that people can dance to, but also deliver a meaningful message,” Alya shares on the single. “Even though the track has an energetic vibe, it touches on themes like self-love and making smart choices, reminding listeners that not everything shiny is as great as it seems. It’s about having fun while also feeling empowered to value yourself and make decisions that reflect your worth.”
‘Dorothea Tanning’ is the latest wavy instalment in Boudicca’s Bass Service’ upcoming release ‘Paintings Of Musings Of Music’.
Based on the painting ‘Eine Kliene Nastchmusik’ by Dorothea tanning, the song blends key motifs and eerie feelings from the beautifully surreal artwork, creating a rich tapestry of sounds that’s made even richer by Dolby Atmos technologies.
Featuring delayed harmonies and awash with strange background synthesizers, the piece tests the boundaries of tonality by tuning each aspect differently. Using her own patches made for GForce’s Axxess plugin, a product she helped work on, the scene comes alive with strange feelings and fresh sounds.
Every section and instrument in the song has been written, recorded, mixed, and mastered by Georgina, in her basement studio in Bristol, delivering the crafted production that comes from an artist meticulously seeing an idea through from start to finish.
With the trippy self-made album art, featuring sunflowers photographed by long standing collaborator Alanya Toth, home brewed visuals and hand printed merch, this idea has effervesced into a full project of creations.

The Amours, a duo composed of sisters Jakiya and Shaina release new single ‘THE GAME’ produced by Camper and Mamii, out now via November Yellow. Listen HERE.
The Amours in their own words:
“From the moment we heard the production of this song we knew we had to write to it. It felt fun, flirty “very cutesy” haha. We think that the great thing about being artist is that we’re able to create a new masterpiece with every single song or era. Not placing ourselves in a box and being open to playing around with different sounds, melodies and hooks that we wouldn’t typically do. “The Game” isn’t too far off from how we talk that talk, but this time around we sprinkled a little sugar on it to make it sweeter.”

It’s been six years since Benny The Butcher & 38 Spesh linked up for the fan-favorite Stabbed & Shot. On 10.18.24 that all changes, as Benny & Spesh announced the long-awaited collaborative sequel; Stabbed & Shot 2. Much has changed in the interim, including their respective statures, as they have both grown, elevated and evolved.
For Benny The Butcher, 2024 has already been a monumental year. After dropping his major label solo debut, Everybody Can’t Go, on Def Jam, he followed up with “the summer ain’t over until say it is” projects Summertime Butch and Buffalo Butch, Vol. 1, the latter of which featured his long-awaited collaboration with Drake. Benny’s ability to balance his gritty street lyricism with his growing mainstream presence has solidified his reputation as one of hip-hop’s most versatile voices. Stabbed & Shot 2sees him returning to his roots, reconnecting with 38 Spesh for another round of paper chasing.
38 Spesh, has also been active and supremely accurate this year, most recently with the release of the critically acclaimed, and perhaps his most visible project to date, Mother & Gun, which again displayed his versatility as both an emcee and producer.
Benny & Spesh also realize that their long-awaited collaborative sequel includes much higher stakes and baked-in expectations. But, they thrive under that pressure, as Stabbed & Shot 2 is the rare sequel that surpasses its predecessor; when you turn on the bright kitchen lights, Benny & Spesh are always going to cook up and deliver.
Dubbing themselves as the best tandem to go back and forth since Jadakiss & Styles P, Stabbed & Shot 2 is a master class in plug talk, survival tactics, and everything you want from a Benny & Spesh drop. The chemistry is even more elevated, their distinct styles blend seamlessly, and they effortlessly deliver more of the barred-out, street narratives and vivid storytelling that has defined their careers. Stabbed & Shot 2 is a testament to their growth, and resilience as artists and entrepreneurs.
Internet A&R’s, your prayers have been answered! Rome Streetz and Daringer have aligned for a collaborative project, Hatton Garden Holdup, which is now available!
Leading up to the release of Hatton Garden Holdup, Rome & Daringer performed exclusive album concerts and events in both NYC and Los Angeles, and released two singles, both of which made an immediate impact; the first single and video (shot by Coach Bombay in the White City housing projects of West London) “Starbvxkz,” for which Billboard stated “Rome raps like a box cutter to grill over Daringer’s production,” and Uproxx added “you know what you’re getting with Griselda affiliates, gritty; double-entendre riddled street raps over some of the grimiest production you’re likely to hear in modern hip-hop.” The project’s second single, the Griselda/TDE union “Sage” featuring Schoolboy Q, drew even more praise, as Hotnewhiphop stated “Rome Streetz is one of the most stalwart artists that we have right now, and with his brags and Daringer’s hazy beat, you can feel the vibes almost instantaneously,” HipHopDx added “Rome and Daringer bring the goods with “Sage,” and the chemistry with Schoolboy Q is discernible, while Vibe commented “Sage” finds Rome and Daringer’s east coast stylings meshing effortlessly with Schoolboy Q’s Cali-cool, that chemistry results in a spellbinding effort that only heightens the anticipation surrounding Hatton Garden Holdup.”
‘SOUL KISS’ – the new collaboration EP from HARU NEMURI and Frost Children is now available to stream in full. A new music video for the single “Burn” is also out now and can be seen here.
The music video for “Daijoubu Desu” was released upon the announcement of the EP and can be seen here.
NEMURI speaks on the lyrics of “Burn”, “Fitzgerald once said, “In a real dark night of the soul it is always three o’clock in the morning, day after day,” but in my life, my soul has danced, screamed, and gone mad even at three o’clock in the morning. Or rather it could be said that precisely because it was 3 AM, I was dancing, screaming, and had gone mad. The anger, sadness, pain, and emptiness, all of these overwhelming energies, are too immense to be contained within this single body. When you turn your gaze toward the soul that can only continue to dance in the darkness to release it, you will see things that were previously unseen.”
“This song was made in Berlin immediately after Angel was discharged from the hospital for a mysterious spider bite-induced stomach illness,” adds Lulu of Frost Children. “We channeled that sort of “Hurt through the pain” mentality into the track. Sometimes you have to lock in to the music regardless of how you’re feeling.”
the serial hit-maker, Frank Walker announces the release of his latest single, “Crossfire,” a high-powered collaboration with Toronto-born singer-songwriter Alexander Strwart. Showcasing the peak of collaborative artistry and sonic exploration, “Crossfire” is a vibrant embodiment of the seminal generation of electronic music that transcends listeners into an emotional journey driven by Stewart’s powerful lyrical refrain. Stewart’s anthemic melody is energized with Walker’s driving bassline that explodes with classic big-room drops, creating a viscerally addictive track that resonates with crowds across the globe.
“Crossfire” captures the spirit of the golden age of dance music with emotional depths, catchy hooks and energetic drops, showcasing Walker’s signature style.

Belgian composer Alice Hebborn‘s debut album, Saisons, is a contemplative journey through sound and nature. It’s a deeply personal exploration of humanity’s relationship with the natural world, shaped by Hebborn’s walks in the countryside and her readings on ecofeminism and environmental harmony.
Saisons was born out of Hebborn’s move to the countryside in 2021, where her daily immersion in wild landscapes inspired the intricate sonic world of this project. The seven-movement album for piano and electronics does not represent literal seasons, but rather collects impressions of nature as it is today—fluid, unpredictable, and increasingly disrupted by climate change. Pianist Nao Momitani, Hebborn’s close collaborator, performs on the album, blending acoustic and electronic textures into a harmonious and organic soundscape.
Today she announces the December 6th release date via Western Vinyl, along with the new track“Movement 2.” Check out the new track via YouTube, and pre-order the album here.

“Man, the main riff in drop D has been around forever. I wrote that back when we were demoing for the Anthem record,” recalls frontman/guitarist Chris DeMakes. “It just never felt right, and was shelved. I never forgot about the idea. This time, Roger wrote the choruses, and I came up with the U2 stadium rock guitar bridge. Matt found the drum feel and groove that I was searching for all those years earlier, and the brass added a horn hook over the big guitar riff – one that rivals any of their catchiest parts. I can’t wait to play this one live.”
Adds bassist/vocalist Roger Lima: “LTJ has messed with the slow and heavy vibe on a few songs, but I feel like we finally got it right with ‘Sunny Side’. Between the grooves, the changes, the horns and the lyrics, we are pumping this one on all cylinders.”
He continues, “’Sunny Side’ is like a reminder to actively make an effort to live in the present. Move past your old haunts and be the absolute best version of you that you can.”
Fans around the world can catch Less Than Jake on the road throughout the rest of 2024 and into 2025. The band wrapped up their European tour this past summer, and recently kicked off their fall US Final Visit To Rockview Tour. They’ll be traveling to Australia later this fall and recently announced that they will be headlining Slam Dunk Festival in the UK next spring. Miami/NYC-based musician, producer and multimedia artist Stranger Cat shares the synth-soaked “Hollow Heartbreak,” an anthemic dance track, out now, that finds hope in heartbreak. The artist’s resilient, self-produced sophomore album Slow Jam Love Letters To My Body In Pieces due out November 15 on North Street Records and is available for pre-order now. Later this month, Stranger Cat will perform live in NYC and Brooklyn on October 26 and 27 with Laura Burhenn of The Mynabirds.
“Hollow Heartbreak” emerged in the aftermath of a devastating breakup as Stranger Cat learned to move through the heartache. “I wrote this song to deal with the breakup with someone who was deeply close to me. I processed my pain through recording and producing the track: I wanted the opening to sound like the angels weeping.” Building layers of auto-tuned voices, Stranger Cat taps into her authentic soulful croon, speaking directly to the chaotic relationship, and concludes with the layered release, “I need you, I don’t need you anymore,” a cleansing, a realization, a joy and cry all at once. Ultimately, the creation of the track led her to the other side of the pain, prompting a significant, necessary self-reclamation. Finding relief and freedom, the artist adds, “By the end of building the track I’d reached a total 180, through creating an 808s and synths dance party, letting it all go.”
The resonant forthcoming album, produced from bed while recovering from a serious accident, allowed the artist to feel it all. Putting the pieces of her body back together, both physically and emotionally, produced a collection of work that required careful reflection and complete surrender. Delving into the challenging experience, Stranger Cat shares, “These songs were written during a three year period when I was forced to sort of drop out of life and recover, first dealing with difficult dance injury which required 1.5 years of rehab, followed by a serious accident which left me healing in a wheelchair for five months with both legs casted.” As she grew accustomed to a new relationship to her body, she set out to put her pain on display, but make it sexy, through art.
Confined to a bed, the ten tracks that emerged was an accumulation of the pain, frustration and yearning for a brighter future. “I channeled the longing for connection into these songs of desire.” The result is a cornucopia of orchestral synth pop with layered vocals, sparkly synths and 808 beat driven dance parties. “I wanted to give myself and the listener permission to feel everything–then dance and let it all go–the kind of dance you do alone when no one is looking.”
