“California Dreams” by Photographer Nicolas Denolle

A beautiful series by Nicolas Denolle. Born in France and currently based in San Francisco, California, Denolle studied Graphic Design at ÉCAL (University of Arts & Design) in Switzerland. A multidisciplinary artist and Art Director at Apple, Denolle explores the intersections of design, photography, and visual storytelling with an eye for simplicity, detail, and form. “California Dreams” is an ongoing project that considers the timeless beauty of nature, blending observation and imagination to create a poetic and atemporal language:

“My latest series is a visual essay shaped by long explorations through the varied lands of California, from mineral coastlines to high deserts and conifer forests. Along the way, I photograph rocks, trees, and native flora, assembling them into an imagined geography. Shot on medium format film, the work inspires melancholy for a world that may no longer exist, or perhaps never really did, except in travelers’ tales.”
