Today, Darringtpn Press, the publishing arm of Critical Role, announced the first expansion to the Daggerheart TTRPG. Daggerheart: Hope & Fear is the debut expansion to the Daggerheart Core Set and nearly doubles the game’s worldbuilding and character-creation toolkit, offering players and GMs new options for creating adventures.

Featuring new character classes—including the Witch, Warlock, Brawler, and Assassin—and  more than 130 enemies, Daggerheart: Hope & Fear expands on the Daggerheart storytelling toolkit. GMs will find adversaries, environments, 4 new campaign frames featuring new themes and custom mechanics, and a rip pad of blank  adversary sheets. Player options include a full new set of domain cards (the Dread Domain), communities, ancestries, gear options. It’s also set to feature new mechanic: transformation cards which expand your heritage options to  play as Werewolves, Demigods, or Vampires.

Daggerheart: Hope & Fear comes in two versions: a standard edition and a deluxe  edition with exclusive accessories (GM screen, dice, trackers) and variant artwork. 

The Daggerheart: Hope & Fear standard edition ($39.99 USD) comes with a book (around 200 pages) and a box containing cards and a rip pad of blank adversary sheets!

Inside the book, you’ll find: 

  • New character options, including 4 new   classes: the Witch, Warlock, Brawler, and   Assassin, each with 2 unique subclasses
  • 130+ new adversaries and 28 environments,  plus a rip pad of blank adversary sheets to help you create your own 
  • 100+ weapons, armor, item, and consumable options 
  • 4 new Campaign Frames introducing new worlds and settings for you to explore 

The cards include: 

  • A completely new Dread Domain set of cards, unlocking ghastly, macabre magic core  to the new Witch and Warlock classes.
