Detectives Investigating Fatal Collision in North Seattle

Seattle police detectives are investigating a fatal collision in North Seattle last night.

On Oct. 22, at about 10:15 p.m., patrol officers responded to reports of a hit and run collision into a pedestrian in the 7300 block of 15th Avenue Northwest. There, officers found a man down in the roadway. 

The suspect vehicle, possibly a silver sedan with front-end damage, fled the area before police arrived, and officers did not find it. 

The Seattle Fire Department (SFD) arrived and provided medical care to the victim. Despite all life-saving efforts, the pedestrian succumbed to his injuries and SFD pronounced him deceased at the scene.

Detectives determined that the 56-year-old man crossed the street in an area not designated for pedestrian crossing when the car, going southbound on 15th Avenue Northwest, fatally struck him.

Police cordoned off the area and detectives with the Traffic Collision Investigation Squad (TCIS) arrived and processed the scene. The King County Medical Examiner took custody of the deceased.
