Detectives Investigating Homicide in South Seattle


Seattle police detectives are investigating a suspected homicide in the Georgetown neighborhood this afternoon. 

At about 11:30 a.m., patrol officers responded to a report of a body in a tent encampment in the 1000 block of South Bailey Street. There, they found a man with apparent fatal injuries. 

The Seattle Fire Department arrived and pronounced the victim deceased. 

Officers cordoned off the area until detectives with the Homicide and Crime Scene Investigation Units arrived to process the scene. The King County Medical Examiner will take custody of the deceased and determine the cause and manner of death. 

The circumstances are under investigation. There is no suspect information at this time and police did not make any arrests.
