On Friday, August 22, at 6:49 p.m., officers responded to a report of a shooting near the intersection of Blanchard Street and 1st Avenue in the Belltown neighborhood.
Officers arrived and contacted a 24-year-old male who had been shot in the hand. The victim reported that a suspect approached him, pressed a handgun to his rib cage, and attempted to rob him. The suspect then shot the victim and fled eastbound through an alley.
Police provided medical aid until Seattle Fire Department medics arrived. Medics transported the victim via American Medical Response (AMR) to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition with a non-life-threatening injury.
Officers searched the area but did not locate the suspect.
