Success: The Power Trio of Opportunity, Support, and Unstoppable Drive

Success isn’t an accident. It’s not a lucky break, a divine handout, or a matter of simply being in the right place at the right time—though timing plays a role. Real, lasting success is built on three non-negotiable elements: opportunity, the support of like minds, and the relentless force of drive, ambition, energy, consistency, and work ethic. These elements formed the foundation of my journey, and they are the blueprint for anyone who wants to rise above mediocrity and achieve greatness.

1. Opportunity: The Spark That Ignites the Fire

Every journey begins with an opportunity, but the key is recognizing it when it presents itself. For me, my opportunity was time—time on my hands to write my books. That was my opening, my chance to create something that could change my life.

Opportunity also showed up in the form of people—individuals who entered my life at pivotal moments, offering connections, knowledge, and doors to new possibilities. But opportunities aren’t always obvious, and they aren’t always handed over neatly wrapped with a bow. You have to seize them, work them, and shape them into something tangible.

Many people overlook opportunities because they don’t look the way they expect. Some expect a golden ticket or an easy break, but real opportunities often come disguised as hard work, long nights, and uncertainty. You have to be ready to leverage what you have—whether it’s time, talent, or resources—to create a pathway to success.

2. The Support of Like Minds: Steel Sharpens Steel

No one succeeds alone. No matter how strong, talented, or determined you are, the right support system is critical. I had readership—people who wanted to see me win. They gave me feedback, shared their thoughts, and helped me refine my craft. That was my community, the people who encouraged me when I needed it most.

Beyond my readers, I had a friend who sent me money consistently for an entire year. That financial support was crucial, giving me the breathing room to focus on my writing without the added stress of financial instability.

Then there was my angel investor—someone who saw my potential and put money behind it. That kind of support doesn’t just come in the form of cash; it’s an investment of belief, a sign that someone else sees what you see and is willing to bet on it.

Support is about alignment—connecting with people who uplift you, push you forward, and refuse to let you fail. Whether it’s mentorship, friendship, financial backing, or an engaged audience, having the right people in your corner makes the fight for success much more attainable.

3. Drive, Ambition, Energy, Consistency & Work Ethic: The Fuel That Sustains the Journey

Opportunity and support mean nothing without drive. I had the gumption, the fire, the hunger, and the refusal to quit. I wasn’t waiting for someone to crown me successful—I was putting in the work every single day.

Ambition fueled me. I wasn’t interested in being just another writer. I wanted to be the bestselling author, the award-winning novelist, the name that stood out. I had the vision, and I was committed to chasing it down.

Consistency kept me on track. Writing isn’t a one-time event—it’s a discipline. Success doesn’t come from working hard for a week or a month; it comes from relentless execution over years.

And then there’s work ethic—the final ingredient. I wasn’t just dreaming about success; I was putting in the hours, refining my craft, pushing myself beyond limits, and treating my work like an obsession. Nobody outworked me. And when you have that kind of mentality, success becomes inevitable.

The Winning Formula

At the core of it all, my success came from one simple but powerful formula:

Opportunity + Support + Drive, Energy, Consistency & Work Ethic = Winning.

That’s how I became a bestselling author. That’s how I became an award-winning novelist. That’s how I built my career from the ground up, despite every challenge, every setback, and every doubt.

If you’re ever wondering how to make it in life, this is the blueprint. Find or create your opportunity, surround yourself with the right people, and then put in the work every single day—no excuses, no shortcuts, no hesitation. That’s how you win.
