Seattle police are investigating after three people were injured during multiple shootings throughout Seattle this morning.
At about 1:40 a.m., patrol officers responded to Harborview Medical Center (HMC) to interview a victim, suffering two non-life-threatening gunshot wounds (GSWs) in his left leg. The 38 year old told police that around midnight, while he was at the Mount Baker Transit Station, he heard gunfire, felt pain, and realized he was shot.
The man told officers that his friend drove him to HMC and dropped him off. Hospital security retained video footage of the drop-off. SPD notified Sound Transit Police about the shooting and asked them to retain footage of the transit center and search for evidence. Officers did not make any arrests.
This is an open and active investigation assigned to the Homicide and Assault Unit.
Incident Number: 2026-1967
At about 5:15 a.m., patrol officers responded to reports of gunfire near North 128th Street and Aurora Avenue North.
A short time later, a victim arrived at Northwest Hospital (NWH) with a gunshot wound to her leg. Police responded to NWH to interview her. The 29 year old told officers that while working on Aurora and speaking to a potential customer, she heard an argument followed by nearby gunshots. While running away from the gunfire, she got shot in the leg.
The victim, who was with her friend at the time of the shooting, flagged down a passing motorist and got a ride to NWH.
Officers found the shooting scene, including multiple shell casings and a small blood trail belonging to the victim. They processed the scene and notified detectives in the Gun Violence Reduction Unit (GVRU). The Real Time Crime Center found relevant video evidence.
The circumstances leading up to the shooting are under investigation. Police have not made any arrests at this time. This continues to be an open and active investigation assigned to GVRU.
Incident Number: 2026-2062
At about 6:20 a.m., patrol officers responded to HMC again and met with another victim suffering from GSWs to the leg and back.
The 26 year old told police that while he was standing outside of a Hookah Lounge somewhere in the SODO district, he was struck from behind by unknown suspect(s). While running away from the suspect(s), he got shot in the back and leg. He told police that an unknown person drove him to HMC and dropped him off at a nearby gas station, telling him he was at the hospital.
He managed to find the HMC emergency department a couple of blocks away.
The uncooperative victim told officers he did not know the area due to recently arriving in Seattle from Arizona. The patrol sergeant notified detectives of the incident. Police did not make any arrests.
