A Reflection on the Life Force That Sustains Us
When we speak of God, we often conjure images of a “He” or “She” or a celestial Being gazing down upon us. But what if God is more profound than our need for definitions? God may not be a person at all but an energy—a life force that permeates every fiber of our existence, flowing through us, before us, and after us. God is the pulse of the Universe, a force that keeps us grounded amidst chaos, gravity, and nature.
The Universe exists in perfect balance, a system so finely tuned that our very lives depend on it. Yet, in this delicate framework, humanity sometimes slips into betrayal, humiliation, and discord, as if we need to “get over” on one another to succeed. In reality, we are here for only a fleeting moment. The Universe does not need our approval, and it certainly doesn’t rely on our existence to sustain itself.
Thank God for the environment’s ability to correct itself and the Universe’s willingness to overlook our missteps. And even if we envision God as an elder with a graying beard or a nurturing mother, I give thanks to that Almighty energy—this force that not only allows us to exist but also grants us mercy and forgiveness. Without these graces, humanity might have veered far off course long ago.
This is a reminder to appreciate this life force, to honor our time here by living consciously, gratefully, and kindly. In doing so, we align ourselves with the greater balance, the powerful flow that we call God.
