The Marshall Project’s Inside Story Video Series Returns for…

The Marshall Project’s “Inside Story,” an innovative video series that brings vital criminal justice news to audiences behind bars and beyond, returns for its second season with in-depth stories on health care in prisons and jails, correctional staff shortages and the challenges of solving murders in one American city.

Across six episodes, the series will also feature insightful interviews with prominent changemakers in policy, social justice and entertainment, including actor Common and comedian Donnell Rawlings. And rapper G. Dep sat down with host Lawrence Bartley for an exclusive conversation days after his release from prison.

Co-created by Bartley and Donald Washington, Jr., both of whom work at The Marshall Project and were themselves formerly incarcerated, Inside Story brings TMP’s impactful accountability and investigative journalism on the criminal justice system to incarcerated people — and those on the outside, too. In addition to stories built around TMP’s original reporting and those of its partners, the show includes animated first-person essays, explainers and more.

Each episode will be available online at 11 a.m. ET every Thursday, beginning Sept. 26, 2024, on The Marshall Project’s website and YouTube channel.
